Barrier films

Multi-layer barrier films hold a steady lead among the numerous materials within food packaging. The main advantages of the material are the wide variety of specifications that can be met during the production process. The film structure can combine polymer layers of different properties and thicknesses, different layer order and arrangement, modify separate layers with special additives and change the overall thickness. Therefore, there are almost unlimited possibilities for development to meet the requirements in package performance.

  • Vacuum bag barrier films

    Co-extruded bags of non-oriented polyamide with polyethylene are soft to the touch, nearly non-rustle and their vacuum welds could slightly fold. Such bags can easily fit any product while vacuum processing and have excellent resistance towards puncture and mechanical impacts when over 90 µm.

    • Thickness
      50-100 µm
    Vacuum bag barrier films

    Advantages

    • Low weight of vacuum bag as to the content;
    • Low in cost by several times in comparison with glass or metal packaging;
    • Zipper (zip-lock, zip-clip) allows to repeat operations of product pull off and hermetical closure of the bag every time. And thus product time-of-use can be extended without loss of quality.

  • Thermoforming barrier films

    Thermo-forming equipment is designed for the production of thin-walled packaging of thermo-forming sheets which are sealed with upper lidding film. The forming depth depends on the sheet thickness.

    • Thickness
      90-300 µm
    Thermoforming barrier films

    Advantages

    • Good tray formability;
    • High barrier performance (O2 ≤ 5);
    • Excellent clarity and gloss;
    • Reliable sealing with upper film;
    • High tear and tensile strength;
    • High moisture resistance.
